At our Mickleover Nursery, we love finding creative ways to bring joy, relaxation, and new experiences to our little ones. This week, the children were treated to a special Spa Day – a delightful blend of pampering, play, and bonding!
The day began with the children donning plush, cosy headbands, setting the stage for a true spa experience. Next came the highlight of the day: revitalising facemasks! The children giggled as they gently applied the soothing masks, enjoying the cool sensation on their skin. And for an extra touch of luxury, they placed cool cucumber slices over their eyes – a perfect way to relax and unwind.
After their mini-spa treatments, the children sipped on freshly squeezed orange juice, beautifully garnished with juicy strawberries handpicked from our very own nursery plants! This refreshing treat was not only delicious but also a wonderful opportunity for the children to appreciate the fruits of their gardening efforts.
By incorporating this element, the children explored the concept of healthy eating and sustainability – an important part of their understanding of the world and their physical development.
The pampering continued as the children got to paint each other’s nails! This activity encouraged collaboration, patience, and fine motor skill development. Watching the children carefully paint their friends’ nails with bright, fun colours was heartwarming and a reminder of the strong bonds they share.
Beyond the fun and relaxation, Spa Day gave our children a chance to practice important life skills such as taking turns, helping others, and enjoying self-care. It also fostered their personal, social, and emotional development by promoting confidence and positive interactions.
Spa Day at Mickleover Nursery was a relaxing and joyful experience for everyone involved. It allowed the children to explore new sensations, connect with their friends, and enjoy a playful take on the idea of self-care.
We look forward to creating more memorable days like this, where fun and learning come together seamlessly.
