Job Description

We are looking for a part-time nursery nurse to work within our well-established team. You will support the Senior Nursery Nurse within the unit and work alongside a robust staff team to provide a warm and stimulating environment for children.

Requirements

  • Hold a full and relevant qualification in Early Years at level 2 or above
  • Team player with a positive mindset and a passion for childcare
  • Be of a kind and caring nature
  • Have good knowledge of the EYFS and good communication skills

Pay & Holiday

  • 31 days of holiday per year (including bank holidays) (calculated per annum)
  • Absence reward of up to 1.5 days per year

Training

We offer high levels of training throughout all of our nurseries, tailored to suit online but also face to face learning where desired. We actively encourage all of our team to continuously improve their levels of knowledge and understanding, having had team members join us on part time supervisory basis’s to enjoying their time so much they have progressed to complete full Level 3 qualifications – no matter what your qualification or experience we truly believe it is our duty to train and support you through to the highest Cottage standards.

Team Building

We offer many team building opportunities throughout the working year, most notably our Graduation parties and our Christmas celebrations, but not forgetting the occasional Birds lunches, easter eggs, fuddles, BBQ’s and so much more! Our individual nurseries are also known for their out-of-work get-togethers, whether that be bowling, escape rooms, dinners out or charitable events such as the race for life – there is something for everyone and we are always up for suggestions to suit everyone’s interests!

Uniform

We pride ourselves on being up-to-date and trendy! Our uniforms consist of smart black trousers, a black polo shirt and a Cottage embroidered apron to suit;

  • Green for apprentices
  • Red for Nursery Nurses
  • Blue for Senior Room Leaders

We provide your aprons free of charge and you have the opportunity to purchase more if required.

Holiday

We are open five days a week for fifty one weeks of the year, giving you that much needed Christmas break off to spend time with your loved ones. We also provide paid bank holidays. Your holiday allowance will depend on your working pattern and will be discussed at your interview.

Working Hours

We have many team members with differing shift patterns, from some term-time-only positions to part-time and full-time positions too. We are open to discussion dependent on the job you apply for – we pride ourselves on being flexible where we can, allowing for people with all different backgrounds and commitments to be able to work with us.

Each month you will be invited to vote for your ‘employee of the month’, these votes are tallied up, and the highest scoring employee is rewarded with a shiny gold badge to wear for the month and a gift card to treat yourself with.

We also offer a referral scheme, whereby if you recommend a family or a new employee to us, you gain a bonus in return.

Our absence reward scheme runs termly, so throughout the year, you have three opportunities to gain holiday in return for zero absences. If you manage to get all three terms absence free, you can expect a bonus in time for Christmas!

Childcare Discount

We offer a childcare discount to every member of staff at a base rate of 15%. When considering performance, years of service, your contracted hours this is subject to increase. We also take an individual approach to assessing each and every situation.
